2027 4-star San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln EDGE and Oregon commit Prince Tavizon is expediting his high school career.

On Tuesday, the coveted defender announced that he would be reclassifying to the 2026 class.

Tavizon is the No. 125 prospect nationally, the No. 16 EDGE and the No. 11 player in California according to the 2027 Rivals rankings. As a sophomore in 2024 he recorded 90 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, and two forced fumbles.

Prior to reclassifying, Tavizon was one of two commits in Oregon’s 2027 recruiting class along with 4-star Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson defensive lineman Cam Pritchett.

The San Diego product committed to Oregon on June 1 and his recruiting stock has only continued to rise this offseason.

“I feel like it’s an edge school too because Dan Lanning loves defensive ends,” Tavizon told ScoopDuck following his Oregon commitment. “Coach Tosh (Lupoi), and then my guy Kam Araghi, he’s a great dude. He makes sure I’m good. Makes sure my family’s straight. I just feel like that’s my second home.”

Tavizon will become the second edge rusher and third defensive lineman in Oregon’s 2026 recruiting class, joining 3-star Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco EDGE Dutch Horisk and 4-star Eugene (Ore.) Willamette defensive lineman Tony Cumberland. His addition to the 2026 class moves Oregon’s haul to 15 verbal commitments.

The Ducks are still firmly in the mix for 4-star Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill defensive lineman Deuce Geralds and 5-star Mobile (Ala.) St. Paul’s Episcopal EDGE Anthony ‘Tank’ Jones. Geralds is scheduled to commit on August 2, while Jones has not set a commitment date. He plans to commit some time before his senior season, either later this month or possibly on July 1.
