Oregon Defensive Lineman Derrick Harmon Heading to NFL

Interior defensive lineman Derrick Harmon announced moments ago he would head to the NFL draft. Although he could have spent another year in college, Harmon is being pretty widely projected as a potential first rounder in the NFL draft.

This season the 6-foot-5, 310-pounder racked up 27 tackles and 5 sacks for the Ducks.
Harmon transferred into Oregon last Spring after spending his first three seasons at Michigan State. He was a massive piece to a stout defensive line for Oregon this season.
Several early mock drafts have Harmon going in the first round. A return to Oregon felt unlikely due to his draft profile following a strong season.
