Report: Oregon Commit Transfers To Eugene Area High School

One of Dan Lanning’s top commitments will reportedly play his junior season of high school football in Eugene. That’s right, junior season.
Class of 2026 defensive line commit Tony Cumberland will transfer to Willamette High School for this upcoming season. The school announced the move on an Instagram news page.
Cumberland is the No. 32 ranked player in the On3 Industry Rankings for his class. He is the No. 2 ranked defensive lineman in the class and top-ranked player from the state of Arizona. The four-star will make the move from Desert Mountain (Ariz.) to Willamette.

The four-star committed to Oregon September of 2023. Since he has visited Oregon a few times but has not taken any other visits.
There has been rumors of Cumberland re-classifying to the 2025 class. However so far that remains in question. A move in high schools at this point would suggest that is highly unlikely to happen as we’ve reported on ScoopDuck for the past few months.
Cumberland is currently Oregon’s lone commit in the 2026 class.
