Purdue picked up an addition to its 2026 recruiting class on Friday, as Iowa Western Community College safety Dax Noles announced his commitment to the Boilermakers in a post, via Instagram.

Noles took an official visit to West Lafayette on Sunday and Monday of this week, less than a month after being offered by Barry Odom, defensive backs coach Charles Clark and the Boilermakers.

“West Lafayette was really cool. Facilities are amazing. Coaches are amazing, great people. Now, I really enjoyed the experience, and it was a great time,” Noles told GoldandBlack.com of the visit. “Really tried to build a relationship with the coaches while I was there, that was the main focus, for sure.”

Noles began his career at Oklahoma as a walk-on before transferring to Iowa Western for this fall, where he turned himself into a Big Ten prospect. He tallied 40 tackles and three interceptions in nine games this season. The sophomore defensive back chose the Boilermakers over Charlotte, Western Michigan, Central Michigan, UNLV, Old Dominion, South Dakota, and South Dakota State.

Purdue sees Noles as a boundary safety that can play downhill and make plays.

“They told me more the boundary safety, be able to fill the alleys, make some tackles and cover some guys as well,” Noles said. “I’m very physical, and then that that I’m quick to the ball and play downhill.”

Noles becomes the 20th member of Purdue’s 2026 class and joins Raderrion Daniels, Dana Greenhow and Emoni Smith as the defensive back commits for the Boilermakers in the cycle.
