Niblack, who just completed his second season at Alabama, has 21 career catches for 342 yards and five touchdowns. Most of his production was during the 2023 season, where he caught 20 passes for 327 yards and four touchdowns. Like Bond, Niblack also produced in the week two matchup between the Longhorns and the Crimson Tide. Niblack had two receptions for 45 yards and one score which came on a 39-yard pass from Jalen Milroe in the early portions of the fourth quarter.

A member of the class of 2022, Niblack was ranked as the No. 89 overall prospect, the No. 3 tight end, and the No. 14 player in Florida by the On3 Industry Ranking. The On3 Industry Ranking is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

On3 ranked Niblack as a five-star prospect. He was the No. 27 overall recruit, the No. 1 tight end, and the No. 7 player in Florida per On3’s rankings.

Niblack’s addition to the roster is a welcome one for Steve Sarkisian and Jeff Banks. The tight end position in Austin loses Ja’Tavion Sanders, who set multiple tight end school records before declaring for the 2024 NFL draft. Texas has Gunnar Helm on the roster, who saw steady action this year and caught several important passes. Production behind Helm is limited or non-existent from younger tight ends. Niblack has an opportunity to immediately step in and earn playing time as Texas’ top pass-catching tight end target.

In addition to his fellow former Alabama teammates Bond and Blackshire, Niblack joins Matthew Golden, Silas Bolden, Trey Moore, and Andrew Mukuba in Texas’ 2024 transfer class.
