Cedric Baxter Jr. runs for over 225 yards again in big win Friday
Texas commitment Cedric Baxter Jr. proved again Friday night why he is the No. 1 ranked running back in the On300.

The 6-foot-1.5, 213-pound ultra talented and versatile back and his Edgewater High teammates took on a very talented Orlando Jones High team Friday night.
The Longhorns verbal amassed 245 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries in the 14-13 victory, moving Edgewater High to 4-0.
Those numbers are no small feat going against an Orlando Jones High team that features Miami 4-star LB/EDGE commitment Malik Bryant, 2024 4-star DT D’antre Robinson and a number of other future FBS signees.
Adding another little known fact to put his Friday night performance in perspective. Baxter suffered a hard hit to the ribs and sternum late in the win over West Orange High. He pretty much stayed in bed all weekend, and didn’t practice early in the week.
Baxter will board a plane this morning and fly to Austin to take in the Longhorns game tonight vs. Texas-San Antonio. This will be the first time the No. 28 ranked prospect in the On300 watches Texas play in person.

Baxter entered Friday night with 620 yards and five touchdowns on 69 carries. He now has more than 860 yards through four games after the Friday night win.

Season totals: 97 carries for 865 yards (8.9 per carry) and seven touchdowns for an average of 216.25 rushing yards per game.
