So far, Texas has faced two Power 5 schools — Alabama and Texas Tech — and is 0-2 in those contests. The two Longhorn wins have come against Louisiana-Monroe and UTSA and were by comfortable margins.

West Virginia dropped the first two games of their season to Pittsburgh and Kansas before recovering against a FCS team in Towson. The Mountaineers then went into Blacksburg, Va. and topped Virginia Tech in a decisive 33-10 win to take home a rivalry trophy.

Both teams sit at 0-1 in Big 12 play and seek to avoid going under .500 before October even arrives.
