AUSTIN, Tx — The Texas defense might’ve got jealous of all the offensive scoring. Josh Thompson fixed that.

His 27-yard interception return for a touchdown gave the Horns a nice, 28-7, cushion at the 9:49 mark of the second quarter.

Besides that, Texas has 354 total yards and is absolutely mauling the Tech defensive front with a 42-14 lead at the half after a Roschon Johnson scoring scamper.

Texas scores on its opening drive after a 10-play, 75-yard march ends in Casey Thompson hitting Bijan Robinson for a 39-yard touchdown catch. Thompson converted three third downs during the first series.

On the Horns second series, Thompson rode Robinson and Roschon Johnson on a 9-play, 80-yard drive that ended in Johnson hitting paydirt from three yards out. It was at this point you’re thinking this’ll get ugly.

Then Keilan Robinson was called for being offsides after blocking a Tech punt, and the Red Raiders responded.

Tyler Shough scores on third-and-goal after a 14-play, 75-yard march, and gets within seven, 14-7, with 14:00 remaining in the second quarter.

The Longhorns promptly respond when Thompson scores on a QB sneak on its next drive, capping a 12-play, 75-yard drive. Dicker’s extra point pushed the Texas margin back to 14, 21-7, with 10:16 left in the first half.

Thompson hits Xavier Worthy on a dime for a 23-yard pitch and catch touchdown. It put UT up 35-7 and basically put this thing away. In the first half.

Tech adds a score late in the first half after Henry Colombi hits Myles Price on a beautiful 40-yard toss, getting the Red Raiders within 21, 35-14.
