Injury Update: Texas WR Xavier Worthy, DL Moro Ojomo
Losing to Texas Tech in overtime was bad enough, but Texas defensive lineman Moro Ojomo was out, and wide receiver Xavier Worthy missed part of Saturday’s Big 12 opener versus Texas Tech in Lubbock.

The 2nd-year standout receiver from Fresno (Calif.) Central East played in the first half with noticeable discomfort, tallying 50 yards receiving on three catches. Worthy suffered a lower leg injury, per coach Sarkisian, with x-rays negative.
Ojomo, senior from Katy (Texas) didn’t make the trip (ankle), per Texas coach Steve Sarkisian.
Xavier Worthy in Big 12 play
Texas was bad in the first season under Sarkisian, losing six out of its last seven games to close the year. However, it could have been even worse had Worthy not been a late addition to the 2021 recruiting class. The wide receiver exploded onto the scene and was named a freshman All-American.
Three games into the season, Worthy is once again the Longhorns’ leading receiver heading into Big 12 play. He has 11 receptions for 162 yards but has not been able to get a touchdown on the board but will be hoping to do so against Texas Tech.
