Marcus Davis: 'It Just Felt Like Home'

Clear Creek cornerback Marcus Davis arrived in Austin for his junior day visit on Saturday morning. On Saturday night, he became Texas’ second commitment from the class of 2009. Davis, arguably the top defensive back in the state, talked about his decision.
“I actually ended up committing up there,” Marcus Davis said when asked about his junior day visit. “Junior day was today actually, but Coach Mack (Brown) wanted us to come up yesterday and visit with him for a little bit. So I went up there and talked to him and his wife and Coach (Mac) McWhorter and his wife. Actually, they extended the offer letter Thursday, but I didn’t get it yet. He offered me again yesterday and I committed later on that night.” “It went really good. I enjoyed it,” Davis said of the actual junior day visit. “It just added on to more of what I felt last night.” Davis picked the Longhorns over offers from Oklahoma and Texas A&M. He was also strongly considering LSU and USC. He talked about what separated Texas from the rest of the pack. “It just felt like home,” Davis said. “I couldn’t have felt any more comfortable than I did last night. It’s all about family up there.”
