Seven Longhorns named to Reese's Senior Bowl watchlist

Seven Texas Longhorns football players were named to the Reese’s Senior Bowl watchlist on Wednesday. The Senior Bowl watchlist is made up of 484 draft prospects evaluated by the Senior Bowl staff.

Tight end Jahleel Billingsley, defensive tackle Keondre Coburn, cornerback D’Shawn Jamison, running back Roschon Johnson, offensive lineman Christian Jones, defensive lineman Moro Ojomo, and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown were the Longhorns chosen for the watch list.

Billingsley, a senior from Chicago (Ill.) Phillips Academy who transferred from Alabama, is in his first year with the Longhorn program. He played in 36 games with five starts for the Crimson Tide. He has 37 career receptions for 559 yards and six touchdowns. During his most recent season with Alabama, Billingsley hauled in 17 catches for 256 yards and three scores.

Coburn, a senior from Spring (Texas) Westfield, is a fifth-year player with 38 career appearances and 33 starts. For his career, he has 66 tackles including 11.0 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks, plus one forced fumble. Last season, he had 15 tackles, 2.0 TFL, and 1.0 sack.

Jamison, a senior from Houston (Texas) Lamar, is a fifth-year player with 48 career appearances and 31 starts. He is fourth in school history in kick returns and kick return yardage. He was named to the watch list for the Paul Hornung Award, given annually to the most versatile player in college football. Jamison has 115 career tackles, 4.0 TFL, and four interceptions. He has two career kick return touchdowns and one punt return touchdown.

Johnson, a fourth-year senior from Port Neches (Texas) Port Neches-Groves, has appeared in 35 games with four starts. He switched from quarterback to running back ahead of the 2019 season and has remained with the tailbacks since. Johnson has 1636 yards rushing with 18 touchdowns for his career. He also has 42 catches for 292 yards and two scores. He is one of the leaders of the current football team.

Jones, a fourth-year lineman from Cypress (Texas) Cy-Woods, has played in 35 games with 22 starts, most of them coming in the past two seasons.

Ojomo, a fifth-year senior from Katy (Texas) has played in 38 games with 25 starts. He has 63 career tackles with 8.0 TFL and 2.0 sacks. 2021 was his most prolific season, with 29 tackles and 3.0 TFL.

Overshown, a fifth-year senior from Arp (Texas), moved from safety to linebacker after the 2019 season. He has 153 career tackles with 20.5 for loss and 5.0 sacks. He also has three interceptions, 12 passes defended, three fumble recoveries, and three forced fumbles.

The 2023 Senior Bowl will take place on Saturday, February 4 at 1:30 p.m. on the campus of the University of South Alabama. NFL Network will televise the event.
