Texas adds another 2025 commit in four-star DL Brandon Brown
The commits won’t stop coming for the Longhorns. 2025 Melbourne (Fla.) Eau Gallie defensive lineman Brandon Brown committed to the Longhorns on Tuesday, choosing Texas over local programs like Miami, UCF, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, and others.

Brown, a 6-foot-2, 275-pounder, is ranked as the No. 283 overall prospect, the No. 32 defensive lineman, and the No. 38 prospect in Florida according to the On3 Industry Ranking. On3 ranks Brown as the No. 271 overall prospect, the No. 27 defensive lineman, and the No. 36 player in Florida.
Prior to his announcement, Texas was not even on the radar on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Miami held a plurality at 31.4 percent, followed by UCF at 9.7 percent, Florida at 8.3 percent, then Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, LSU, and Texas A&M at 7 percent.

Texas overcame being outside of Brown’s top three during the summer. Inside Texas was told by Brown in September that his top three was Miami, Florida, and Texas A&M.
For Eau Gallie this past season, Brown tallied 65 total tackles with 40 of them solo. 24.0 tackles were for loss. Brown recorded 4.0 sacks and one pass defended. In his prep career, he has 155 total tackles with 107 of them solo plus 48.0 tackles for loss. He’s also recorded 14.5 sacks, 16 hurries, five passes defended, one fumble recovery, four forced fumbles, a blocked punt, and a blocked field goal.
