On3’s No. 1 ranked running back and Texas commitment Cedric Baxter Jr. is putting together a dominant senior season.

The near 6-foot-2, 213-pound instinctive, patient and physical runner with impressive acceleration has led Edgewater High in Orlando, Fla. to a 3-0 start to the season.

Baxter took to Twitter Friday night after a 26-14 upset win over area power West Orange High.

Baxter shows stiff arm and physicality against West Orange

Baxter showed his entire skill set on a pair of runs for touchdowns against West Orange High.

He flashed patience and a reverse spin move in the hole on a 50 yard touchdown run.

Baxter rushed for 272 yards in game two

Baxter put together a big-time performance in a 34-10 game two win against Don Bosco Prep out of New Jersey. His 26 carries netted 272 yards and two touchdowns.

Baxter’s ability to plant and cut with violence at 213 pounds is one the skills that makes him On3’s No. 1 ranked running back in the 2023 cycle.

Baxter opened the season with 232 yards

Cedric Baxter opened his senior season with 22 carries for 232 yards and a score in a 22-7 win over Bishop Moore out of Orlando.

Baxter will be back in Austin next weekend

The Texas Longhorns commitment remains very close with Texas running backs coach Tashard Choice. Baxter is scheduled to be back in Austin September 17.

Florida, Miami and Texas A&M continue the pursuit of the Longhorns’ verbal.

Baxter rushed for 1,651 yards and 22 touchdowns on 199 carries as a junior.
