Aldine (Texas) Eisenhower wide receiver Ryan Niblett came to San Antonio for the All-American Bowl to compete, and he’s doing so at the slot receiver position. That’ll pay off for the On3 four-star and Texas signee when he arrives in Austin this June.

“It means a lot to me to just come out here and be with the best of the best, and play against the best of the best,” Niblett said following an All-American Bowl practice on Wednesday. “I feel like slot receiver is better for me because of my speed. I can get open. I’ve got more field open for me, so I feel like it’s good for me.”

Niblett originally joined Texas’ class of 2023 on April 23, 2022. He committed on a visit to Austin on the same day as running back Tre Wisner after the Orange-White scrimmage at DKR.

“The spring game, the energy out there was crazy,” said Niblett. “It was really loud and energetic. The fans, that hype, the culture out there, me and Tre were actually talking right before we committed. We actually met Bijan (Robinson) that day. I just felt like that it was good for me to experience because it was my first time ever experiencing it. I just loved it ever since.”

After overtures from Alabama, TCU, and Houston, including a late official visit to the hometown Cougars, Niblett stayed with his Texas pledge and is happy the recruiting process has come to an end.

“I love Texas, like, anything about Texas, the atmosphere,” Niblett said. “Really just everything about it.”

Niblett is ranked as the No. 73 overall prospect, the No. 12 wide receiver, and the No. 14 player in the state of Texas according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3 ranks Niblett as the No. 95 overall prospect, the No. 16 wide receiver, and the No. 20 player from Texas.
