Holmes was offered by the Longhorns on December 5. He visited the Longhorns prior to the dead period.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound former Pelican State standout at Archbishop Rummel has been a staple of the Demon Deacon secondary the last two seasons.

After playing in three games with one start in the 2020 season, Holmes appeared in 13 games in 2021. He totaled 19 tackles, four passes defended and one interception in 13 games.

It was in the 2022 season that Holmes became one of Wake Forest’s best and most consistent cornerbacks. Holmes recorded 24 tackles and nine passes defended this past season.

He joins Stanford punter Ryan Sanborn as transfer additions to the Longhorns following the 2022 season.
