I’m pretty on board with this hire. Not sure continuing to lean on 12-13 personnel is actually the right move but if we’re gonna do it, it’s good to get someone good at it. The “rub” on him in the league is he’s always struggled to generate explosives; but Day’s downfield passing scheme and the talent advantage should help with that.

Checks every box that we were told that Day wanted. The hire as stands has to be considered a success and now the job is to make it a success on the field.

Didn't see this one coming, wow. Probably pretty good hire I'd say? Hard to say what the offense will look like. The one concern I have is that in Atlanta he was roundly criticized for not featuring his best players enough. Given the offense next year needs to revolve around JJ, not ideal. But he has pretty solid scheme and leadership chops.

Boom, let’s go, can’t wait to see all the downers and other teams laugh at this and then his offense kicks ass in the season

Guessing he won't be part of the 11 coaches for recruiting?

Unless something very unexpected happens that's correct. New approach and I bet we'll see a lot of blue bloods/big money schools taking that path in the coming years.

Goodness this hire is being universally panned over on Twitter. May all of them eat crow.

"fans" hate it. People that actually know football love it.

I did not have Arthur Smith becoming the new OC on my bingo card. He has not really shown a flare for having multi-faceted offenses the last several years. Ever since he left Tennessee to become the Atlanta HC, his career has been on a downward trajectory

As a Steeler fan who is annoyed with this hire....can we at least use this to get FedEx money for NIL? LOL

This is perfect, a guy who can design a run game and doesn’t have to be babysat by coach day

Ryan Day has crushed coaching hires from former NFL guys, I know some fans crush him but he deserves all the benefit of the doubt here. I hope he last longer than 2 years. Team needs to have a solid foundation at OC/DC for a couple seasons.
