That could cause a log jam in the quarterback room.

My guess is he either goes on a run in the playoffs and goes to the NFL or he odds encouraged to transfer

Very likely unless he’s good with being a 3rd round draft pick.

I think a lot depends on conversations between Keelon and DeBoer. Does Keelon see himself as ready? Does DeBoer? I have no idea about Keelon's actual readiness.
I do think making the playoffs this year takes a good deal of pressure off DeBoer for 2026. So, I think we'd probably be more willing to risk a younger qb next year than if we had missed the playoffs this year.
I know it sounds completely crazy, but if Keelon is legit and ready, I think you'll see Ty moving somewhere else next year, either NFL or, more likely, another school.
Now, if we get right in the next month and win the whole dang thing, sell Keelon on the greatness of being the qb at UCLA or Boston College.:)

The plan for him, like Milroe, was for this to be his last season. He will be encouraged to go either way. If he comes back he won’t be paid what he is now. Mack will be a 4th year guy in the system and Keelon a redshirt Freshman plus 2 highly rated true freshman. Lets hope he goes nuclear in the playoffs so he goes out the right way

He’s not ready for the NFL and I’ve been saying that all season even when everyone was calling him the best thing since sliced bread earlier this year. I think he should/will be back in college next year. The question is where? He could very well transfer if the staff feels like Mack or Russell are ready to go and are upgrades. Key word here being the STAFF not fan opinion. If the staff thinks they not ready yet then we run it back with Ty. But imo the best thing for Ty is to return to college.

This all sounds similar to the Milroe conversation last year. Everyone expected Ty to be the solution (which he has been for most of the year), and said if he was starting we were championship caliber. Now we want him gone too. If Keelon was ready he’d play. We play every other freshman that is ready. If you want to know what starting a freshman looks like ask Michigan. The have a running attack that would make us almost impossible to stop and weren’t even really a threat in the big 10.

He will not be back.
The combination of an anemic quarterback class this year (stronger next year) and a crowded quarterback room next year will lead him to April’s draft.

Since we are all throwing opinions on here, I believe he is hurt-more than what people think. His release point and follow through doesn't look like it did 5 games ago. If the NFL knows that (and they do if it's true), he could still maybe get a good draft spot. If I'm just way wrong and he has just gotten worse over the season...........I don't know what happens to him

So hard to say. It’s like the tale of two seasons in one. First half, first round pick……second half, day two or three pick. It’s a weak class this year so maybe they lifts his stock up from the second half of the season performance, but honestly for his own benefit he should go to the draft or transfer.
Like Hurts, if he stays in college he needs a year where he will develop and it looks like to me Bama might not be the right fit for that after watching the second half of the season.

If he gets back to some of what he did earlier in the year, he should go to the draft. This QB class is garbage. Next year’s will be a lot harder for him to be drafted high in

Ty is stuffing due to our o-line and ineptitude at rb. Tom Brady would have issues when pressured 20 times a game. Add to that every play called is slow developing and he has zero chance, hell we don’t even spread a defense we go with these ridiculous bunch formations that makes the defense job easier as they don’t have to define the box.

I think it has to be a big $$$ problem for the staff next year if he comes back. He’s going to have to be paid, and they definitely want to hold on to Russell. In the rev share area where you are working with a finite amount of money, paying heavily for 2 QBs is really going to hurt your ability to pursue other key positions of need like OL and LB.
It does feel absolutely wild having this conversation though. 6 weeks ago, it felt like Ty was one of the best QBs bama has had. If you had told me we get him for another year, I would have been ecstatic. That’s totally flipped on its head and it’s happened so quickly.
