Wisconsin has filled out its roster for the 2025-26 season. Former Temple forward Elijah Gray has signed with Badgers and head coach Greg Gard, giving UW another big man this winter, On3 has learned.

“When we look at Wisconsin basketball, it just seemed like a perfect fit from a program culture perspective and the coaching stability,” Obe Gray, Elijah’s father told On3.

As a junior, Gray averaged 9.0 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. Gray shot 48 percent from the field, including 30.4 percent from the field. Gray scored in double figures 11 times last season, including a season-high 17 points in a win over Holy Family.

The 6-foot-8 forward began his career at Fordham. Over the last three seasons, Gray has appeared in 86 games, including nine starts.

Others schools involved with Gray included Oklahoma, Miami (FL), Memphis, Minnesota, and West Virginia, per sources.

A native of Charlotte, Gray was unranked coming out of high school. Per On3, Gray is a three-star transfer prospect with an overall grade of 86.00.

Gray joins junior Nolan Winter and sophomore Austin Rapp among the key frontcourt players for the Badgers.

“The kid is a winner and he’s he’s never been afraid to walk into an opportunity where he’s able to compete for what he what he gets,” Obe Gray stated. “Candidly, if college coaches are making you any promises, they’re probably lying to you anyway. So, what we loved about Wisconsin was, they were very upfront, like, you know, it’s three or four front court players.

I imagine the guys who are contributing to the winning and helping the team win, will be the guys playing the majority of those minutes. He was just looking for a situation like he always had, where there is open competition and he can walk in and compete for what he gets.”
