Olin Chamberlain Jr. commits to Temple

St. Joseph’s Prep guard Olin Chamberlain Jr. has committed to Temple and will join the Owls’ incoming recruiting class as a preferred walk-on.
Chamberlain, the grandnephew of the late 76ers legend and NBA Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain, announced and discussed his decision Friday on Instagram.
Chamberlain was part of a backcourt that led St. Joe’s Prep to the Philadelphia Catholic League semifinals, where the Hawks lost to Father Judge back in February. The 6-foot-1 guard led St. Joe’s Prep with 22 points and knocked down four three-pointers in that game.
Chamberlain told The Philadelphia Inquirer back in April that he received recruiting attention from CAA, Atlantic 10 and Patriot League programs. A second-team all-PCL selection as a senior, Chamberlain played in the same St. Joe’s Prep backcourt as Dayton recruit Jaron McKie, the son of former Temple star and Owls head coach Aaron McKie, and Florida Gulf Coast recruit Jordan Ellerbee.
