2011 NBA Draft Thread, Kanter to Jazz, Knight to Pistons

by: Bryan1306/24/11

The KSR Crew is out and about celebrating Beisner’s 37th birthday, so no Live Blog tonight, but this night isn’t about us.  Besides, Turkey Hunter used all of his sexist, inappropriate jokes on the Miss USA blog.  It’s about Enes, Brandon, Deandre, and Josh.  And of course your support and love for them.  So give your predictions from where the Cats will go and once they get drafted, we will put it on here if you are not watching live.

7:30pm: We should start a pool of how often they play Adele before the end of the night.  My over/under is 51 times.

7:33pm: New Jersey crowd doing their best Casper the Friendly Ghost impressions at David Stern.  He calls them “great fans” and nearly gags.

7:35pm: Hey Matt Jones, you forgot Jon Barry in your great white NBA players conversation.  Idiot.

7:39pm: Cavs select Kyrie Irving, assuring they will only lose 59 games next season.  Hey, at least the Heat didn’t win the title though Cavs fans.  I guess you can celebrate that.  Also, I have a good feeling Baron Davis has a 6th wind in him and will become an all-star again.  Wink Wink.

7:45pm: TWolves select Derrick Williams.  And Enes Kanter breathes a huge sigh of relief.  I’m not sure but I thought I saw him high-5 his father after that pick.

7:49pm: The great thing about Stuart Scott is that no matter what camera is on, he is guaranteed to be looking at it, whether intentionally or not.

7:50pm: JAZZ TAKE ENES KANTER!!!!!!!  Ummm, is this a good thing?  Al Jefferson better move out of the way.  Stern does announce him as from Turkey and University of Kentucky, but ESPN graphics only list Turkey.

7:52pm: Kanter dedicates rookie season to UK fans.  Damn dude.  I think he trying to take Mashburn and Patterson’s roles as favorite UK players ever.  Ballsy.

7:57pm: Tristan Thompson to the Cavs.  Dan Gilbert may have just guaranteed having the best odds to get the top pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.  So, well done.  Just getting more TV time for your son.  Brilliant.

7:59pm: Thompson the highest picked Canadian in history.  Kinda like saying I was the best looking dude on the tennis team in high school.

8:02pm: The Raptors pick not Brandon Knight, which is really all that matters and has to excite him.  Next up is the Wizards.  Cmon Wiz, lets have a double UK point guard starting lineup.

8:05pm: The Lituanian guy just finishes his interview, which sounded a lot like Drew Franklin after a typical Friday night.  Not sure what he said, but I am sure it was damn funny.

8:07pm: The Wizards select a Czech guy, which is boring as hell.  What wasn’t boring was whoever that freaking woman was that gave him a kiss.  Highlight of the night.  Sorry Enes.

8:11pm: Foreigners be taking over.  Thanks Obama.  Bismark Biyombo goes to the Kings.  Here is my lame joke of the night: First time Demarcus Cousins blocks his shot he should tell him “You Congo in my paint”.  Boom.

8:14pm: Here is the problem for Knight: Pistons at 8 have Rodney Stuckey.  Bobcats at 9 have DJ Augustin. Bucks at 10 have Brandon Jennings.  Warriors at 11 have Steph Curry.  Hell, he still may go to the Jazz at 12.  JAZZ AT 12.  That is my prediction.

8:18pm: OK, it took me 4 minutes to be dead wrong.  KNIGHT TO PISTONS.  Congrats to Brandon, but where does he play behind Rodney Stuckney?
