A Jason Bateman Friday Recap
Saturday is Golden Globe winning actor Jason Bateman’s birthday. The Arrested Development and Horrible Bosses star turns 43 tomorrow and is currently in talks to star in a Horrible Bosses sequal. He also played the awkward and creepy guy who was adopting the kid in the movie Juno. My personal favorite role of Bateman is Jarvis Edison in the movie Necessary Roughness. I know its an awful film, some call it the Major League version of football gone wrong, but I loved it as a kid. If you can stomach the bad acting and predictable storyline you can see Bateman’s ability to become a star even in the early 90s. Happy Birthday man.
Now for the recap:
-The second-ranked Kentucky Wildcats head to Knoxville tomorrow to try and complete the sweep of the Tennessee Volunteers. UK Hoops defeated the Lady Volunteers Thursday on a last second lay-up by A’dia Mathies and the boys look to keep it going and shut Tenneesee out for the week. This will be the 213th time the Wildcats face off against the Vols with the Cats holding a 146-66 advantage in the series.
-The spread for tomorrow is set at Kentucky (-10), which means that you don’t even have to watch the game, UK has already won by 9 points. The Wildcats are 3-12-1 against the spread this season and fell short of covering again against Auburn by a mere point.
-If you were thinking about heading down to cheer on the Cats, Tennessee has announced that there are still tickets available for the game. Upper level tickets can be purchased at UTTix.com for $25 a piece. Get some more blue in the seats instead of that hideous, hideous orange looking color.
-Anthony Davis is only 5 blocks away from breaking the UK single-season record held by Melvin Turpin and Andre Riddick. Davis has 78 through 17 games or 4.6 blocks a game. If he keeps this up he’ll have 156 by the end of the year, as much as Riddick’s entire 93-94 team did as a whole. That’s insane.

-During his press conference this afternoon Coach Cal said he wants his team to talk a little more on the basketball court, especially in road games. Tenneesee hates us as much as we hate them so the Cats can expect a hostile enviornment on Saturday afternoon. Communication will be key in coming out of Knoxville with a win.
– MKG wants to come off the bench tomorrow. Coach Cal said that Kidd-Gilchrist would like Darius Miller to get the start instead of him because he’s only started six games this season compared to Kidd-Gilchrist’s seventeen. This is an extremely classy move by MKG and from what I hear about this kid’s work ethic and character, he’s the kind of guy every coach dreams about.

-In other news, Rick Pitino has lost his lasagna loving mind. At a press conference today he basically said that U of L beat writer C.L. Brown was hurting Louisville recruiting with the last article he wrote. You can catch C.L.’s story here, but its just a bunch of quotes from former Louisville coach Denny Crum and former player Preston Knowles about how he works his players too hard. How is that C.L.’s fault, Rick? Maybe if you treated the five-star players you do get with some respect instead of calling them unconfident and fat then you’d get more of them.

-The UK dance team is heading down to Orlando to compete in the hip-hop and pom pom division of the UDA College Nationals. If you are in Orlando, I hate you, because its freezing here, but go cheer them on. BBN is everywhere.
-Don’t forget to vote for the eRupption Zone as the Naismith Student Section of the Year. The winning student section will win $5,000 for their athletic association. Here’s your chance to make your voice heard, BBN. You can vote riiiiiight here.
That’s it for tonight, folks. Brush your little teeth, wash your little faces, get plenty of rest, and don’t forget to iron your “I hate Tenneesee” shirt because you’ve got a big day tomorrow.
You stay classy, Kentucky.
