At the Half: Florida leads Kentucky 37-36
For a little bit, this felt like it’d be a nice easy win. Florida was without its top scorer and rebounder, Colin Castleton, and Kentucky jumped out to an early lead. At the 8:17 mark, the Cats led by 15, 30-15. Tom Hart started dropping KSR Easter Eggs. A nice Quad 1 win seemed ripe for the taking.
Florida didn’t get the memo. The Gators went on a 13-0 run to cut Kentucky’s lead to two with 4:48 left. The Cats pushed the lead back up to eight with 2:54 to go, but Florida kept shooting. A monster dunk from Kowacie Reeves and two threes from Riley Kugel gave Florida the 37-36 lead at half. The Gators outscored the Cats 22-6 in the final 8:17. Not good!

Oscar Tshiebwe leads Kentucky with 15 points but only 3 rebounds. Oscar now has 1,000 points in his career at Kentucky, only the 61st Wildcat to reach that mark, and the first since Doron Lamb in 2012. Chris Livingston is actually Kentucky’s leading rebounder thus far with five boards. The Cats are shooting 50% (15-30) from the floor, 33% (2-6) from three. Florida also has 15 field goals, scoring at a 53.6% clip.
This is a winnable Quad 1 game that Kentucky needs on its resume. Cats better punch back, starting now.
