WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

There is Gary Ferman’s mailbag answering all your spring practice questions, and you also can check out the recaps of the weekend baseball series against highly ranked Clemson (the Tigers won two of three). There also were football team updates with punter Dylan Joyce and Isaiah Horton to check out.

Plus we had you covered with plenty of recruiting news, including updates off weekend visits with 5-star DB DJ Pickett, 4-star RB Byron Louis, 4-star OL Iose Epenesa, 4-star CB Adonyss Currie, 4-star DE Justin Hill, 4-star DB Eric Winters and 4-star OL Cortez Smith. There also was our comprehensive notebook off the Saturday visits.

More updates?

Bellevue (Wash.) three-star offensive lineman Demetri Manning has set his official visit date to Miami and breaks things down. Another official visit that’s been set? That’s with Orlando (Fla.) Orlando Christian Prep offensive tackle Demetrius Campbell, who shares his thoughts.

A visitor from practice last Thursday we catch up with? That’s Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas 2027 defensive back Zayden Gamble’s. His stock has risen in a major way to start the new year.

We also catch up with Duncanville (Tx.) four-star 2026 EDGE Kevin “KJ” Ford, who landed an offer and plans to be on hand for the spring game. Also picking up an offer was 2026 Mater Dei (Calif.) four-star defensive lineman Tomuhini Topui, and he shares his thoughts.

And check out what Jacksonville (Fla.) The Bolles School four-star 2026 tight end Corbyn Fordham is saying. He’s one of Miami’s early recruiting targets in next year’s cycle after landing an offer in January.

In basketball news we catch you up on Miami’s interest and the status of North Texas guard Jason Edwards, who earned first team All-AAC honors.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“(I’ve been working on) my spiral punting. Just doing a lot of rollouts last year, trying to add to my game – Australians grew up doing the rollout rugby-style kick from when we were like 5 years old. It kind of comes second-nature to us. The spirals is really technical, something we really have to work at every time. It takes a lot of time to get used to it.”
