WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

There was the big news last night that DL Tyler Baron is transferring to Miami … we have that and a breakdown of just what he adds so don’t miss that.

We have our surprise area on defense … that could be a big deal for the team. So don’t miss that.

There’s also our continuing analysis of the top 50 roster players, giving insight onto this team’s talent level and depth. Check out our closer look at No. 39, LB Cam Pruitt.

In recruiting be sure to check out our latest Inside The Lines feature, this one with high priority target Gregory Thomas.

We also catch up with Pensacola (Fla.) Pine Forest three-star athlete Zion Legree. He had already landed a handful of offers from Power Conference programs like Notre Dame, Auburn, Washington, Mississippi State and Kentucky before Miami pulled the trigger. After landing an offer from the Hurricanes, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect says he is “very” interested in The U.

Another update: Miami (Fla.) Booker T. Washington four-star 2025 cornerback Ben Hanks Jr. got a visit from Miami coaches and shares where things stand.

Plus Pensacola (Fla.) Escambia four-star safety Ladarian Clardy is only a few weeks away from official visits and is fairly deep into his recruiting process, but as new schools continue offering the No. 201 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking, he doesn’t believe it’s too late for new programs to enter his picture. Miami’s one of them.

On the basketball court there’s also our evaluation of recent addition Kiree Huie. And in baseball the team won its opening game of the ACC Tournament against Louisville, so get the recap and reaction off that.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

LB Jaylin Alderman addition … Posted by APB_Cane

LB room lost experience along with 872 snaps with the departures of Flagg and Cloyd. Alderman brings both experience and production where you can mix and match pairings with Chase Smith/Popo Aguirre without losing experience and productivity.

Injuries also happen…

Bottom-line is there are plenty of snaps to go around.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“I’m big on relationships. So with me and Miami, I feel like I just have to get back on the campus, build a relationship with the guys and the coaching staff and stuff like that, see how they coach and whatnot. My recruitment is still 100% open, so it’s basically just me getting back down to campus and meet the guys and stuff like that.”
