Michigan State football received a commitment from three-star quarterback Alessio Milivojevic, he announced via social media on Sunday. Milivojevic de-committed from Ball State Saturday while on an official visit to East Lansing.

Milivojevic’s recruitment was led by Spartan offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Brian Lindgren, with head coach Jonathan Smith also lending a hand. The two former college quarterbacks visited Milivojevic in-person last week. The three-star quarterback scheduled an official visit to Michigan State shortly thereafter.

“He (Lindgren) likes how the ball comes out of my hand and just my overall game,” Milivojevic said following the in-person visit. “He says I would fit very good into their offensive style.”

Milivojevic agreed with Lindgren’s assessment, but he also added his own scouting report.

“I would describe myself as a quarterback who can sit in the pocket and make all the throws, but I am also big and physical to get the running first downs or avoid pressure and extend a play,” Milivojevic said. “I also bring a very strong mental side to the game with a great work ethic.”

In addition to Michigan State and Ball State, The Naperville (Ill.) St. Francis product held offers from Nebraska, Ole Miss, Tulane, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan, Marshall, UConn and more.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound quarterback is the No. 1301 recruit in the country, according to the 2024 On3 Industry Rankings. He’s also the No. 72-ranked quarterback and the No. 28 prospect from the state of Illinois.

The Spartan quarterback room is beginning to take shape thanks to two recent quarterback additions, including Milivojevic. Former Oregon State freshman quarterback Aidan Chiles announced last week that he will transfer to Michigan State.
