Michigan State will welcome class of 2025 tight end Jayden Savoury for an unofficial visit this spring, March 21 he tells SpartanMag.com. It will be his second trip to East Lansing under new head coach Jonathan Smith and his coaching staff. He was offered by Smith and tight ends coach Brian Wozniak as they visited Orchard Lake (Mich.) St. Mary’s High School on Jan. 12.

The first visit came in late January as Savoury visited campus as the lone 2025 visitor in East Lansing, separate from the Feb. 3 junior day because of his basketball schedule. He also visited Rutgers in January. The 6-foot-6, 220-pound tight ends holds offers from Penn State, Arizona State, Rutgers, West Virginia, and others.

Savoury will return to East Lansing for what will be the second of 25 total Michigan State practices on the spring.

“Being there with a lot less people was really good,” Savoury previously told SpartanMag.com after his first Spartan visit. “I could spend the whole day with them and see (Wozniak) and his coaching style. He took me into one of the offensive room and put all the things they want to do on the big screen. Just stuff that they want to integrate into their offense at Michigan State. That presentation was big for me just seeing what they are about and what they are going to do at Michigan State on and off the field. It really gave me a lot of clarity about what they are going to do.

“I spent a lot of time with (Wozniak). I could see his personality. I didn’t get to see how he coaches, but hopefully I can make it back up there in the spring to see how practice is and workouts are.”

Wozniak made a strong impression on the tight end. The position coach is impressed by Savoury both on the football field and basketball court.

“He says he likes how big I am,” Savoury said. “My size and my height, and how athletic I am. He says he loves two sport athletes and always tries to recruit them the most because of how athletic they are and what they can bring to the table. He says two sport athletes really integrate well into football players. You use a lot of that other stuff from the other sports, in football. You pick up on things from those other sports.

“He likes how I move at my height and size. I am not stiff and he said he likes my speed a lot. He said I can block. I an attach or detach from the line and go out like a receiver and run some routes.”

Other 2025 tight ends of note:

Michigan State and Wozniak were also quick to offer four-star tight end Luka Gilbert of West Chester (OH) Lakota East High, teammate of Spartan linebacker target Grant Beerman. Gilbert (6-7, 225) holds offers from Ohio State, Michigan, Kentucky, Miami (FL), Florida, Texas A&M, and more.

The Spartans also welcomed four-star Brock Schott, of Leo (Ind.) for an unofficial visit in February. Schott holds offers from Ohio State, Florida, Penn State, Texas A&M, and many more. Michigan State has also offered unranked tight end Eli Johnson of River Falls (WI) and Andrew Olesh of Center Valley (PA).
