Purdue has hired Zach Crabtree as offensive line coach, GoldandBlack.com has learned.

Crabtree comes to West Lafayette from Fresno State, where he was offensive line coach in 2025. He replaces Vance Vice on the Purdue staff.

Crabtree came to Fresno State from USC, where he worked with current Purdue OC Josh Henson, who also coached Crabtree when he played o-line at Oklahoma State (2013-17). Henson also was a Cowboy offensive lineman.

Crabtree was USC assistant OL coach in 2024. He spent the 2023 and 2022 seasons as a graduate assistant at USC. In 2021, he was at Oklahoma State working with the offensive line as an analyst. Crabtree was a graduate assistant at Baylor from 2019-20 working with the offensive line.

Crabtree played for the Los Angeles Chargers from 2017-18, but retired due to a knee injury after earning All-Big 12 honors at Oklahoma State in 2017.

He’s a native of Mansfield, Texas.

Fresno State had the No. 6 rushing offense in the Mountain West last season (169.9 ypg). The offense ranked No. 8 overall (350.3 ypg) and No. 7 in scoring (26.4 ppg) in the MWC. The Bulldogs finished 8-4 overall and 5-3 in the Mountain West. Fresno State will play Miami (Ohio) in the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl.
