Robinson, a third-year player out of Salpointe Catholic in Tucson, Ariz., joins Ricky Williams, Cedric Benson, Earl Campbell, Jamaal Charles, Chris Gilbert, and Vince Young in the 3,000-yard club. In addition to his 3,000 rushing yards, Robinson also has over 800 career receiving yards.

Entering the Kansas game, Robinson had 27 career rushing touchdowns and eight career receiving touchdowns.

“I think Bijan is a fantastic football player,” Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said recently. “He’s such a versatile guy, whether it’s running it, catching the ball out of the backfield, catching the ball as a wide receiver. What he means to our team coming into the season with a very young offensive line, what he’s been able to do I think has been extremely impressive, the explosive plays and the tough runs.”

Robinson’s 3,000-rushing yard career began with a 703-yard freshman year in a COVID-shortened 2020 season. Robinson averaged 8.2 yards per carry, breaking Jimmy Saxton’s six-decade old school record. In 10 games in 2021, Robinson rushed for 1127 yards on 195 carries. His season was cut short after he dislocated his elbow versus Kansas, resulting in missing the last two games.

Through 10 games, Robinson has 204 carries for 1158 yards and 12 scores. He’s averaging 115.8 yards per game, and has eclipsed 100 yards rushing in seven games.

Recently, ESPN’s Mel Kiper listed Robinson as the No. 1 running back and the No. 7 overall prospect on his 2023 NFL Draft big board. As a prospect, Robinson was ranked as the country’s No. 16 overall prospect and No. 2 running back according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
