Top-60 safety Anquon Fegans sets commitment date
Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson four-star safety Anquon Fegans backed off his commitment to USC last August. Nearly 10 months later, he’s nearing the end of his process once more.
Fegans tells On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he will announce his commitment on July 29, choosing between Auburn, Clemson, Georgia and LSU.
The 6-foot-0.5, 185-pounder is the No. 55 overall prospect and No. 5 safety in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 4 player in Alabama.
Fegans is coming off an official visit to Clemson over the weekend. The atmosphere in Death Valley stood out during his trip, he told On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong.
“The environment in Clemson is always the same every time,” Fegans said. “A homey environment and what continues to excite me about my future with the Tigers is that you get the same people in recruiting and outside it and love the way things are there.”
An official visit to Miami was scheduled for this coming weekend, though it currently remains unclear if Fegans will head to Coral Gables with the Hurricanes not cracking his final four. Fegans visited Georgia last month and is set to take his OV to Athens during the June 14 weekend.
“It’s always great to get back,” Fegans told DawgsHQ after his May visit. “To keep coming back you have to be one of them ones.”

Auburn trending heading into the summer?
When speaking with Wiltfong in April, Fegans’ father, Antwon, said that it was Auburn that had the lead for the blue-chip defensive back. He’s currently set to visit Auburn during Big Cat weekend on July 27, right before he’s now set to announce his commitment.
“Coach Hugh Freeze and all the coaches, it’s just different on The Plains. It’s a different vibe when you go to Auburn. They’re trying to win. They’re definitely trying to turn it around. You can tell,” the elder Fegans said.
Freeze’s program had traction with Fegans once he came back on the board last year. He’s already logged multiple visits on The Plains this year and could become a headlining piece to AU’s 2025 recruiting class.
“LSU is right there but Auburn is ahead of everybody,” Antwon said. “Georgia is strong too. He loves Clemson.”
