Old friend Kam Arnold was back in the area on Wednesday as a member of the Washington Commanders.

Arnold got plenty of looks with the twos and seems to be making a serious case for a roster spot. I caught up with him after practice for a bit, here’s everything he had to say:

On being back in New England

“It was nostalgic. You know, it was just a little weird not being at BC, but it was cool being back in Boston, seeing the crowd being in this atmosphere and everything. I felt good flying around.”

On facing Alec Lindstrom and Jack Conley on the other side

“That was cool too. It’s like…it’s cool seeing familiar faces and stuff. Being with those guys, we used to do it all the time back at school, so it was good seeing them too.”

On if he ever communicated with Harold Landry at BC

“I never really talked to him before, didn’t really interact with him before, but I had heard of him and watched his game before and stuff. Big fan of him. Players like that, I try to take a little bit from their game and see what I can add into my game. Respect to him.”

On if he’ll be following BC this fall

“I’m gonna definitely follow BC football. Like, the whole season. There’s still a lot of guys on the team I’m still very close with, very cool with. So, I’ll be texting them and talking to them and stuff. I’ll be following them all season, for sure.”

On adjusting to the NFL game

“I mean, now I’m playing Mike (linebacker) which I was before, so I was just running the defense. But, the main thing was just picking up the calls, the defense and everything, learning the playbook. I felt like I did that well, at a pretty high level. So, now it’s just about studying offense and finding their tendencies and trying to play fast. Make some plays off of pre-snap information and all that.”
