UConn freshman Braylon Mullins out six weeks with ankle injury

UConn freshman guard Braylon Mullins suffered an ankle injury in practice earlier this week, the school announced on Friday.
“The initial timetable for a return to full competition is approximately six weeks. He will be continuously evaluated during his recovery and updates will be provided as available,” the release said.
Mullins, named BIG EAST Preseason Freshman of the Year on Tuesday, is arguably the best shooter in his class. He scored 12 points in UConn’s first exhibition game vs. Boston College.
Six weeks from now would be Dec. 5, which likely holds out Mullins for games against BYU, Illinois, Arizona and Kansas. UConn plays Florida on Dec. 9 for the Jimmy V Classic.
With Mullins’ injury, Jaylin Stewart and Jayden Ross should have more opportunities on the wing.
