JUCO pass rusher commits to Temple
Temple’s 2026 recruiting class received some pass rushing help with the verbal commitment of East Mississippi Community College’s Davier Bishop, who announced his verbal commitment to the Owls Sunday evening.
OwlScoop.com first reported news of Bishop’s official visit, along with several other committed and prospective recruits, last weekend.
Bishop, a 6-foot-5, 260-pound defensive end who played previously at Ohio’s Notre Dame College, earned second-team All-MACCC honors this season after compiling six sacks, nine tackles for loss and 36 total tackles this season. Bishop, who also recorded a forced fumble and an interception, chose Temple over offers from Sam Houston, South Alabama and Toledo.
Bishop is expected to sign with Temple Wednesday on the first day of the NCAA’s early signing period. The Owls’ 2026 class, which currently stands at 25 public verbal commitments, is ranked 70th nationally by On3 and fourth in the American Conference.
