Eight former West Virginia football players suited up and saw game action in Week 2 of the NFL season. Here’s a breakdown of how they played and their grades, per PFF.

A look around the league

Colton McKivitz, T

San Francisco 49er right tackle Colton McKivitz received the highest non-quarterback PFF grade among former Mountaineers and the eighth-highest grade among offensive linemen at 73.9.

He played best in the pass block scheme, protecting quarterback Mac Jones’ throw for 279 yards and three touchdowns. His work helped the 49ers defeat the New Orleans Saints 26-21 on the road.

He played in all 71 snaps on offense.

Zach Frazier, C

The Pittsburgh Steelers center was less effective in Week 2 compared to Week 1. He saw 62 snaps, with a 66.2 grade. He saw two pressures allowed to quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

In the 31-17 home loss to the Seattle Seahawks, the Steelers’ offense only generated 267 yards of offense.

Geno Smith, QB

Smith did not see the same success as in Week 1 when he threw for the second-most passing yards. He saw a 34.4 passing grade, only throwing for 180 yards on the same number of competitions as last week, 24.

He was intercepted and sacked three times in the Las Vegas Raiders’ loss against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Dante Stills, DT

Stills saw a 12 snap increase in Week 2, 46, but was graded as less productive by 11.1 points at 43.9. He saw two tackles and batted a pass down at the line en route to an Arizona Cardinals 27-22 win against the Carolina Panthers.

Rasul Douglas, CB

For the Miami Dolphins, Douglas saw major improvement from Week 1. He saw an increase in playing time at 60 snaps and only allowed one catch for six yards. He saw an 80 coverage grade and 79.6 overall performance (27.6 points better than Week 1).

His play was not enough to earn the Dolphins a victory against the New England Patriots, falling 33-27.

David Sills V, WR

Sills saw a similar role as he did in Week 1, with minimal playing time. He saw three offensive snaps in the backfield, at the slot and wide without a target, also playing a down on special teams, in a 22-6 win on the road against the Minnesota Vikings.

Rex Sanhurra, LS

Cleveland Brown fans were probably frustrated with how many times Sanhurra saw the field. He totaled nine plays, six punts and three field goals/Point After Touchdowns in a 41-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Austin Brinkman, LS

For the Houston Texans, Brinkman totaled seven snaps, 4 punts and three field goals/PAT for a 63.9 grade.  The Texans took a 20-19 loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Wyatt Milum, G

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ third-round pick saw his second consecutive week on the inactive list with a knee injury.
