4-star Kentucky DL target Dominic Kirks commits to Washington

A highly-ranked defensive lineman won’t be making Lexington his college home.
On Friday afternoon, defensive lineman Dominic Kirks announced his commitment to the Washington Huskies. The four-star product out of Cleveland (OH) Villa Angela-St. Joseph chose Washington over the likes of Kentucky, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Pittsburgh. Kirks was originally scheduled to officially visit UK the weekend of June 9-11, but canceled that trip the week of and instead went to Wisconsin.
Kirks is considered the No. 389 overall class of 2024 recruit according to the On3 Industry Ranking. Kentucky currently has 10 commits locked in for ’24, but none at the DL position.

Along with his OV to Wisconsin, Kirks also took trips in June to Pittsburgh (June 2) and Washington (June 16). He announced his list of finalists through social media on the first day of his visit to the Huskies. Kirks previously took an unofficial visit to UK last June and received an offer from the ‘Cats this past April.
At one point not long ago, Kirks said that Kentucky was “very high” on his list of options after developing relationships with associate head coach Vince Marrow and defensive line coach Anwar Stewart. However, talks died down in recent weeks as Washington took firm control of this recruitment. Now, Kirks is headed out west.
