The Wildcats kicked off the summer recruiting season by hosting nine official visitors. Kentucky cashed in with one commitment from WR Davis McCray. They need to hit a few more jackpots when the Wildcats host ten official visitors on the first full weekend of June.

Three Players Committed Elsewhere

WR Denairius Gray: 4-star, No. 299 overall, 6-1, 170 lbs., Chaminade-Madonna (Boynton Beach, FL)

Gray is rare in this recruiting era. He committed to Auburn following his sophomore season, and so far, he’s remained steadfast in that commitment. That doesn’t mean he’s not looking around. Prior to his trip to Kentucky, he took official visits to Washington and N.C. State. An impressive athlete at a big-time program, Gray caught 50 passes for 750 yards and 12 touchdowns during his junior season.

S Dylan Purter: 4-star, No. 189 overall, 6-0, 165 lbs., Booker T. Washington (Tuskegee, AL)

LSU secured a commitment from the four-star defensive back shortly after he took an unofficial visit to Baton Rouge this spring. Kentucky is one of many SEC schools that have pursued this versatile athlete, but few others have been able to stay in the fight. He reportedly visited Vanderbilt last week. He’ll make a return trip to Baton Rouge and finish his summer of official visits with Jon Sumrall at Tulane. Considered a cornerback by some, last year he had 97 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 INTs, and 1 kick block in nine games.

DL Jeremiah Gray: 3-star, No. 1,038 overall, 6-7, 250 lbs., Central (Detroit, MI)

Gray has atypical measureables from a defensive lineman. That’s probably why he was almost exclusively recruited by MAC schools prior to his commitment to Cincinnati in April. Detroit natives have been great to the Kentucky football program. It would be a real shame if they snagged another good one from under Scott Satterfield’s nose.

Competitive Recruitments for Kentucky DB Targets

S Andre Clarke Jr.: 4-star, No. 184 overall, 6-0, 175 lbs., Hermitage (Richmond, VA)

The talented safety took an early official visit to SMU, a dangerous team to compete with in recruiting because of its deep pockets. He kicked off his summer with an OV to Syracuse. Clarke made a spring stop at Kentucky ahead of this official trip to Lexington. He’s closing out his summer with visits to Michigan and Miami.

ATH Jordan Crutchfield: 3-star, No. 414 overall, 6-2.5, 195 lbs., Fort Pierce Westwood (FL)

This is a big one. Louisville has been racking up recruiting wins across the Commonwealth. Kentucky has a chance to get a little vengeance from a Sunshine State athlete who could excel in the UK secondary. Mississippi State is trying to play spoiler. Crutchfield opened the summer in Starkville. The UK coaching staff hasn’t shown us much so far during this cycle. This could add some bite back to the bark.

Offensive Linemen in Lexington

Kentucky did not open the summer with a commitment on the offensive line. That must change. The sooner, the better. These two have impressive profiles, which means if Eric Wolford can close, we will probably have to play the waiting game to see it happen.

OT Jack Fuchs: 3-star, No. 710 overall, 6-8, 295 lbs., Beech (Hendersonville, TN)

Ranked as a four-star prospect by ESPN, Fuchs has garnered interest from some big-name programs like Penn State and Ole Miss. He is kicking off his summer official visit tour in Lexington, followed by a trip to Bloomington and Happy Valley.

OL Da’Ron Parks Jr.: 3-star, No. 430 overall, 6-4, 360 lbs., Cardinal Mooney (Sarasota, FL)

Kentucky can’t quit Cardinal Mooney guys, even if it’s not the one in Youngstown. This one is a high-three-star talent who has attracted attention from Ohio State. It’s unclear if he will be making a trip to Columbus later this month, but that doesn’t mean Kentucky is in the clear. He’s already taken an OV at Auburn and has plans to see the hometown team in person, Florida State.

More Kentucky Official Visitors

LB Adam Balogoun-Ali: 3-star, No. 404, 6-1, 210 lbs., Cardinal Newman (Palm Beach Gardens, FL)

It’s Kentucky vs. Bill Belichick. What a weird thing to say. The impressive linebacker kicked off his summer in Chapel Hill, followed by a trip to Oklahoma. Auburn previously hosted him for an OV. Kentucky appears to be the last school to get a crack at this recruitment, but Miami is lingering.

WR Amiri Acker: 3-star, No. 972 overall, 6-1, 185 lbs, Crescent Hill (Iva, SC)

Acker has generated power conference interest, but Kentucky is the only school willing to go all in and get him on campus for an official visit. Liberty is the other top contender at the moment. It will be interesting to see if Shane Beamer ultimately gets him to South Carolina for an OV.

EDGE Elijah Satchell: 3-star, No. 1,224 overall, 6-1.5, 220 lbs., Eastside (Camden, NJ)

We’re used to seeing basketball players from Camden, but people forget that all-time football great Art Still was also from the New Jersey city. Satchell does not have the same pedigree, but they do play the same positions. He previously took a trip to Northwestern and is scheduled to go to N.C. State for an OV next weekend.
