Kentucky will face Vanderbilt in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals

Kentucky will take on No. 11 seed Vanderbilt in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals after the Commodores knocked off Alabama by a final score of 82-76 on Thursday.
Scotty Pippen Jr. led Vanderbilt with 26 points, with Myles Stute (18 points), Jordan Wright (13 points) and Rodney Chatman (12 points) rounding out double-digit scorers. The Commodores shot 39.6 percent from the field and 34.6 percent from three in the win.
As for the Crimson Tide, they shot just 35.8 percent from the field, 23.5 percent (8-34) from three and 58.8 percent from the line in the loss. Jaden Shackelford led the way with 21 points.
“It’s going to be a hard game for us,” John Calipari said Thursday evening. “… They’re dangerous, playing as well as anybody in our league right now.”

Vanderbilt will play its third game in as many days, defeating Georgia on Wednesday before beating Alabama on Thursday. The Commodores have now won three straight.
Kentucky won at Vanderbilt 78-66 back on Jan. 11 and then defeated the Commodores at home 77-70 on Feb. 2. Oscar Tshiebwe finished with 30 points and 13 rebounds in the first matchup, with Davion Mintz leading the charge in game two with a career-high 21 points.
The Wildcats will take on the Commodores at 8:30 p.m. ET on Friday evening, with the game broadcast live on SEC Network.
