Oscar Tshiebwe to announce decision at 5 PM ET

Clarity regarding Kentucky’s upcoming roster in 2023-24 is coming — and you won’t have to wait much longer to find out what the biggest piece will do.
Oscar Tshiebwe just wrapped up his final NBA Draft workout with the Charlotte Hornets leading up to the withdrawal deadline at 11:59 p.m. ET. And when speaking to reporters afterward, the former national player of the year confirmed an announcement regarding his future plans was on the horizon.
Tshiebwe says he will announce whether he is staying in the draft or returning for one final season in Lexington at 5 p.m. ET.
“Just trust the process,” he told Rod Boone of the Charlotte Observer. “But it’s going to be a good decision tonight.”
Tshiebwe worked out alongside the likes of Marcus Bagley (Arizona State), Arthur Kaluma (Creighton), Elijah McCadden (Memphis), Filip Rebraca (Iowa) and David Singleton (UCLA) prior to the withdrawal deadline. He also visited with the Atlanta Hawks this week, along with previous workouts with the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings.

The standout center is currently projected to go undrafted in ESPN’s latest mock draft released this week. He’s rated as the No. 75 overall player in the outlet’s list of best available draft prospects.
Tshiebwe’s intention going into the final day was to keep his name in the NBA Draft, multiple sources tell KSR. The staff continues to push for a return hoping for a change of heart, but the ongoing expectation is that his heart is set on turning pro.
We’ll see if John Calipari can make some magic happen in the final hours.
