WATCH: Reed Sheppard unleashes his inner Bob Ross
Reed Sheppard is trying his hand at acting — and painting.
In a new social media series called Reed Between The Lines, the four-star guard out of London, KY is exploring his talents outside of basketball. In the first episode released Friday afternoon, Sheppard unleashed his inner Bob Ross.
Literally.
“Welcome to Reed Between The Lines, where I try to figure out what I’m good at so I can earn a college scholarship,” said Sheppard. “On today’s show, I’m going to try painting.”
In the one-minute segment, the major UK target threw on a wig and beard and poured his paint onto the canvas and wisdom into the microphone.
“We’re going to start with a tree. There’s nothing wrong with having a tree as a friend,” he said. “This is a happy place. Little squirrels live here and play. It’s beautiful.”

“We don’t make mistakes,” he continued. “We just have happy accidents.”
The segment is… something. That’s probably the best way to describe it. Something.
OK, I’ll play along and “Reed” between the lines a bit.
“… Where I try to figure out what I’m good at so I can earn a college scholarship.” A recurring segment with goofy things he’s not the best at leading up to basketball — something he’s quite good at and has earned over a dozen scholarship offers, including one from the Kentucky Wildcats.
“What’s next?” Sheppard asks, adding the side-eye emoji.
Is this the build-up to a college commitment? Or just a fun segment for a junior in high school? Maybe just working on branding — not that he needs much help as the son of a Kentucky basketball legend — before dipping his toes in the world of NIL in college?
Either way, it’s… something.
