Michigan State offered 6-foot, 190-pound class of 2025 running back Caden Knighten of Wynnewood (OK) on Jan. 24. His other early offers include North Texas, UTSA, UNLV, and SMU. Colorado offered the following day.

C4 connection

Knighten trains at C4SportsPerformance in Durant (OK) with head trainer Sean Cooper. Cooper has a strong relationship with Michigan State, dating back to his playing days and sharing an agent with MSU pass rush specialist Brandon Jordan.

“The offer was through Coach Coop and he has been telling me and other recruits that it’s a great school to be a part of,” Knighten said. “The atmosphere, the people, the culture. Being a spartan is something only a few can believe and even think of! I am just thankful to have an opportunity to live out my dream.”

Due to his trainers’ connection, Knighten feels he already has a strong bond with the Spartan program.

“I feel like the connection between them is great, also including other guys in C4 are associated with them, and also Bai Jobe finding his home in Lansing,” Knighten said.

Spartan 2023 signee Bai Jobe has spoken highly of the Spartans inside the C4 program. Michigan State is also targeting C4 products Xadavien Sims, Kenyan Kelly, Damontre Patterson, among others. Top MSU 2024 target and five-star defensive lineman David Stone was also a member at C4 before transferring to IMG Academy.

“Bai talks about it and stuff, it seems like an amazing place to be a part of for sure,” Knighten said. “I will absolutely visit as soon as I can.”

As for what the running back is looking for in a program, the answer was easy for Knighten.

“Love and respect is all I am looking for in a program,” he said.

Knighten ran for 2,017 rushing yards and 32 total touchdowns in 2022, averaging 201.7 yards a game.
