****EDGE Bai Jobe – Norman (OK) Community Christian

New: No. 44

Previous: No. 55

Net: +11

High School Scouting Summary

Longer-limbed edge rusher that possesses great burst and twitch with a knack for getting to the quarterback. A native of Senegal who moved to the United States to seek a career as a professional basketball player. With his movement skills and body control, it is easy to see how those abilities on the court have translated to the football field as a pass rusher and as a wide receiver. Has solid hand usage for being a developmental prospect. Much more refined against the run than you would expect for someone who didn’t know how to put on pads three years ago. Made rapid improvements from his sophomore to junior season, particularly with his burst off the ball. Even though he needs to continue to fill out his frame, he arguably has the highest ceiling of any prospect in the state of Oklahoma. Highly productive against subpar competition at the high school level and may need some time to adjust to the speed of the game once in college. Will need to continue filling out a relatively thin frame once in a college strength program.

Reminds Us Of: K’Lavon Chaisson

Bai Jobe is a twitchy pass rusher and former basketball-first athlete who is new to football. That was the case with K’Lavon Chaisson in the 2017 cycle. Jobe is around the same size as Chaisson at a similar stage, but is a touch longer and should have more room to add weight.

****QB Sam Leavitt – Portland (OR) West Linn

New: No. 76

Previous: No. 141

Net: +65

High School Scouting Summary

Pure passer who looks like one of the top arm talents and playmakers in the deep 2023 quarterback cycle. Has a stout frame, measuring at 6-foot-2, 197 pounds with a 9.5-inch hand prior to his senior season. Also registers as a good athlete, running a 4.67 second 40-yard dash and 4.38 second short shuttle. A senior riser who turned in a fantastic final season after transferring high schools. Led his team to a state title, while completing 69.1 percent of his passes for over 3,000 yards (a stellar 12.6 yards per attempt) and 36 touchdowns against five interceptions. Pairs that accurate, efficient statistical profile with considerable arm talent. Makes eye-popping throws with regularity, including some of the best individual plays we’ve seen from a 2023 signal caller. Has outstanding natural passing mechanics with quick, fluid arm action. Generates considerable velocity on his throws to all levels. Can drive and layer the football from off-platform. Plays with natural field vision and throws receivers open. Looks to be a loose, coordinated athlete. Shows some playmaking ability with his feet, rushing for 713 yards and eight touchdowns, including a big game on the ground in the state championship game. Fares well against the pass rush and shows creativity both as a passer and runner. Also plays basketball, starting on a nationally-ranked high school team as a senior. Has some football bloodlines as his father was a linebacker at BYU and his older brother, Dallin Leavitt, is a safety with the Green Bay Packers.

Reminds Us Of: Andy Dalton

Sam Leavitt’s live arm, coordinated movements and ability to make plays both from inside the pocket and out of structure remind us of Andy Dalton. Leavitt was a more efficient passer at the high school level while playing against weaker competition than Dalton.

****EDGE Andrew Depaepe – Bettendorf (IA) Pleasant Valley

New: No. 128

Previous: No. 122

Net: -6

High School Scouting Summary

Terrifying edge defender whose high motor makes his presence felt from sideline to sideline. Helped lead his team to a quarterfinal appearance during his junior season. Stands in at 6-foot-5, over 235 pounds with nearly a 6-foot-7 wingspan. Excellent body control and bend for his size. Dominant hooper on the basketball court. Quality run defender. Uses his length to keep his chest clean consistently. Need to see more explosiveness and violence off the ball. Could potentially grow into a 4i if he continues to fill out and add mass. High upside prospect due to frame and overall movement skills. Keen to see if he can maintain his athletic ability as he puts on weight.

Reminds Us Of: Derek Rivers

Andrew Depaepe’s technical skills, quick hands and high effort level remind us of Derek Rivers. Depaepe is a bigger high school prospect both in terms of recognition and in height.

****TE Brennan Parachek – Dexter (MI) High School

New: No. 280

Previous: No. 258

Net: -22

High School Scouting Summary

Thickly-built athlete with dense lowers who can attack the football as a pass catcher and maul defenders in the run game. Excellent job of making defenders miss after the catch and finishing as a ball carrier. Uses his size to box out defenders at the catch point. Willing blocker who looks to bury opponents. Needs to add mass in his upper body and will get stronger as he works in a collegiate strength and conditioning program. High floor player who can play as an in-line Y or flexed out in the slot at the next level. Varsity starter on his high school basketball team. High-caliber baseball prospect as well at first base and as a pitcher.

Reminds Us Of: Cameron Brate

Brennan Parachek’s big frame, play strength and versatility as a pass catcher and in-line blocker remind us of Cameron Brate.

****OT Stanton Ramil – Alabaster (AL) Thompson

New: No. 279

Previous: No. 297

Net: +18

High School Scouting Summary

Towering offensive tackle prospect who dominates in pass protection and consistently blows defensive linemen off the ball. Measures in at almost 6-foot-7, 310 pounds with a 6-foot-10 wingspan. Helped lead Alabama powerhouse Thompson to a state championship victory during his junior season. Naturally high pad level that will affect his ability to play with leverage. Has the hand strength and violence to displace defenders when engaged. Extremely high floor prospect who will be a staple at tackle for a collegiate program.

****DL Jalen Thompson – Detroit Cass Tech

New: N/R

Previous: No. 263

Net: N/A

High School Scouting Summary

Interior defensive line prospect that has a knack for getting to the quarterback. Productive player for Michigan high school powerhouse Cass Tech. Totaled 30 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 10 sacks in six games during his junior season. Athletic ability jumps off the tape. Impressive first step off the line of scrimmage. Chases backside to the ball carrier and can get to the sideline comfortably. Body type should add some quality mass at the next level with a collegiate strength and nutrition program. Will need to add mass throughout the frame in order to gain necessary functional strength to kick inside. Stands in at 6-foot-3, 245 pounds with a plus 6-foot-9 wingspan. Ran an electronically-timed 5.03 40 and a 4.47 shuttle. Jumped a 22-inch vertical and a 9-foot broad jump during the spring camp circuit ahead of his senior season. Plays a little high, but easily fixable with coaching. Can continue improving his ankle flexion. Could bring early value as a third down interior rusher and will develop into a more significant role as he gets bigger and stronger. One of the younger prospects along the defensive line in the 2023 recruiting class.
