Michigan Can't Afford to WASTE Recruiting Momentum Once Again! | Sherrone Moore Embraces Change | Inside Scoop

Michigan remains at No. 15 overall on the 2025 On3 Industry National Team Recruiting Rankings following the updated release of the 2025 On300 on Monday, which saw movement from all three U-M verbal commits this cycle.

There are now two pledges listed in the On300 nationally in Ft. Myers (Fla.) Bishop Verot quarterback Carter Smith and Howell (Mich.) High defensive lineman Bobby Kanka. The newest member of the On300 is Kanka, who was a three-star before the release, but he moved up to a four-star and No. 297 overall in the country.

Kanka, who committed to the Wolverines shortly after his return to Ann Arbor for the annual late July BBQ at The Big House last year, is also the No. 24 defensive lineman nationally and No. 3 recruit in Michigan, per On3.

Smith, who decided to commit to Michigan less than two weeks following his first-ever visit to campus in early November for the Purdue game, is the highest-ranked pledge this cycle. But his move to No. 187 overall resulted in a drop of 75 spots. He’s also the No. 18 quarterback and No. 26 recruit in Florida, according to On3.

Michigan 2025 Recruiting Class

Following the On3 update, Michigan has an overall recruiting score of 89.667, which sits higher than Texas A&M, UCF, SMU, Texas Tech, Arkansas, North Carolina, Baylor, and others. The average rating among the three commits is 89.87, and the average On3 NIL Valuation is $83K.

Rounding out Michigan’s 2025 recruiting class is three-star Alcoa (Tenn.) High tight end Eli Owens, who’s listed as the No. 438 overall prospect and No. 24 tight end in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He’s also the No. 12 recruit in Tennessee.

Dozens of 2025 top targets remain on Michigan’s board, such as five-star Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day offensive tackle David Sanders, five-star Zephyrhills (Fla.) High safety DJ Pickett, Top 100 Sachse (Tex.) High wide receiver Kaliq Lockett, Top 100 Goodland (Kans.) High tight end Linkon Cure, Cleveland Heights (Ohio) High athlete Marquise Davis, On300 Denton (Tex.) Ryan offensive lineman Marcus Garcia, Princeton (N.J.) Hun School LB Kamar Archie, On300 Gaithersburg (Md.) Quince Orchard running back Iverson Howard, On300 On300 Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy athlete Alex Graham, and On300 Katy (Tex.)
