Down the stretch run of a crazy December for OU and just about everybody is feeling it in this holiday podcast.

The Unofficial 40 from SoonerScoop returns again to look at Sooners’ haul on signing day, the basketball team and putting to bed the Cayden Green/Dillon Gabriel saga.

All that and more from the five-man crew (Josh McCuistion, Carey Murdock, Bob Przybylo, Eddie Radosevich, George Stoia) in this Unofficial 40 podcast.

Moving on

It’s time to let it go. Cayden Green is at Missouri. Dillon Gabriel is at Oregon. Wish them both the best and move on with life. What Gabriel meant to OU is hard to put into words, but his two years were incredibly important for the program.

OU basketball with work to do

That’s what we learned Wednesday night. As improved as OU basketball is, it’s nowhere near a finished product. The loss to North Carolina highlighted a few things. Most notably? You can’t just get two points from your center spot.

It’s not all gloom and doom, though. OU did make it a five-point contest in the final minutes and should enter Big 12 play at 12-1 and in the top 15 of the country.

The Gold Standard

The #24K class is in for the Sooners. A perfect 27 of 27 with commits signing and making it official. Breaking it all down with McCuistion about how some of these guys could stack up in recent years.

And a great question of who will have a better career between David Stone and Danny Okoye. OU fans are obviously hoping both will be superstars.

Who seems like a sure bet? McCuistion might surprise some people saying Reggie Powers feels like the guy you can circle as definitely making some sort of impact.

A lot of recruiting talk, focused on another top-10 class for head coach Brent Venables.

All this and a whole lot more as the Scoop crew gets ready for the holidays and the Alamo Bowl in this Unofficial 40 podcast.
