On Tuesday Oregon safety Dillon Thieneman spoke with media as part of playoff week. The veteran talked about getting some time off ahead of this Saturday’s game. Which could prove valuable down the stretch for the Ducks.

Here are his top comments with the video included below.

On the Time Off:

“I thought it was really beneficial to kind of just take a little bit of time, step away, like do some other things. I was able to go see my family for a little bit, and then it allowed us like that break, that time off, and then when we come back, we’re ready to get back to work. So we had that growth period, and then now we’re focused on JMU.”

On JMU’s QB Being Mobile:

“He’s definitely mobile. He can run. They got a lot of QB runs. He was the award for their conference, right? Yeah so he’s definitely a good player you got to watch out for him. He can be a dual-threat so I think kind of lean a little more towards like what we experienced in Washington. Just be prepared for some of that stuff.”

On Chris Hampton (Potentially) Being Next DC:

“I mean, he’s been a D coordinator before. He’s been in a few spots like Tulane and Duke before that, but he’s got a lot of energy to him. He’s very fun to be around. He’ll kind of give you some – or talk back and forth. But I think he’s just a really good coach overall. He’s able to connect with the players, understand the player, and just run the defense.”

On Facing Multiple Offenses:

“I feel like we’ve experienced like some of the extremes as you said like Iowa, like heavy heavy
run team got really good O-line. I’m pretty sure they’re up for the O-line award. I forget what the name of that is. And then we’re facing USC with their heavy pass threat, vertical threats. So I think we’ve experienced like both ends of the spectrum. So it’s just getting dialed in on what this team is, what they specialize in, and areas we can focus on.”
