Oregon Cornerback Dakoda Fields Intends to Enter the Transfer Portal

Oregon Ducks redshirt freshman cornerback Dakoda Fields intends to enter the transfer portal and is no longer with the team, a source tells ScoopDuck.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound defensive back appeared in three games this season after redshirting in 2024 following a knee injury he sustained in August just before the season began. In his time at Oregon he recorded one tackle. Fields also had an interception in the 2024 spring game after joining the team as an early enrollee.
Fields is the second Oregon defensive back that intends to enter the transfer portal along with veteran Jahlil Florence, who announced his intention to leave the program over the weekend. He should have at least three years of eligibility remaining depending on whether he’s granted a medical redshirt in 2024.
Fields was an 4-star recruit from Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra High School that signed with the Ducks in the class of 2024. He was ranked the No. 112 prospect nationally, the No. 16 cornerback and the No. 9 player in California per the Rivals Industry Ranking.

Fields was committed to USC before flipping to Oregon and earned Adidas All-American distinction as a senior. The defensive back was the second player at his position from Junipero Serra to sign with Oregon in as many cycles, as he joined former Cavalier Rodrick Pleasant, who is now at UCLA.
He was one of three cornerbacks to sign with the Ducks that class along with Ify Obidegwu and Sione Laulea. Oregon has one cornerback commit in the 2026 class in 4-star Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian defensive back Davon Benjamin.
