Georgia Tech head coach Brent Key held his usual Thursday media conference as his 3-0 and top-25 ranked Jackets prepare for a non-region home test vs. Temple on Saturday at 4:30 p.m., and Key provided several injury updates at the beginning.

Key said running backs Trelain Maddox and Chad Alexander as well as defensive backs Savion Riley and DJ Moore remain out for Saturday’s matchup. Maddox and Riley haven’t played since the opening game at Colorado while Alexander continues to come back from an offseason injury. Moore played against Colorado and Gardner-Webb, compiling three total tackles, before missing last week’s game vs. Clemson.

“Out this week, Tre Maddox, DJ Moore, Chad Alexander and Savion Riley still,” said Key. “Those guys are improving. Tre is really improving, got some practice reps a little bit this week, got some work with the pads on the field…so expecting him back sooner than later.”

Another update of note was that offensive lineman Tana Alo-Tupuola is questionable for Saturday’s game after suffering a lower body injury vs. Clemson last week. Alo-Tupuola has split snaps as the primary center through the first three games with teammate Harrison Moore.

“Questionable, Tana left the game last week so he’s questionable for this week,” said Key.

Lastly, Key said that defensive lineman/edge rusher Ronald Triplette, defensive lineman Shymeik Jones and offensive lineman Benjamin Galloway are good to go for Saturday’s game and have no injury designation.

“We have nobody probable, and available Ron Triplette, Ben Galloway and Shymeik Jones,” said Key. “So really going into Game 4 this year we’re in a good position as far as the health of the team. And again, I’ve said it several times it’s the job that starts really back in January that we’ve done with the strength and conditioning, all the extra things we do…What AJ (Artis) does in the weight room, what Brad (Kimble) and all his guys and girls do in the training room. But we’re in a good place and hope to stay that way. The guys that are out will continue to work to be back.”

Georgia Tech will be looking to improve to 4-0 on Saturday for the first time since the 2014 season while the Owls are aiming for the upset as they enter the contest with a 2-1 mark so far in 2025.
