Dre'Una Edwards suspended for not upholding academic standards

Kentucky Women’s Basketball will be without its second-leading scorer on Thursday night. Dre’Una Edwards has been suspended for tonight’s game against the DePaul Blue Demons for “not upholding the academic standards of the program”, according to UK.
Edwards, a redshirt junior who has started all seven games this season at forward, averages 18.9 points and 7.9 rebounds while shooting 60.9 percent from the floor and 47.1 percent from beyond the arc. At 6-foot-2, she is Kentucky’s top post threat on offense and the most versatile overall player behind Rhyne Howard.

Kentucky (6-1) is set to host DePaul (7-2) at 7 p.m. inside of Rupp Arena later tonight. The game will honor former WBB head coach Matthew Mitchell, who retired two weeks ahead of the 2020-21 season due to medical concerns.
