FRISCO, Texas – The Oklahoma Sooners quarterback room is taking a massive leap forward in 2023 with the return of Dillon Gabriel and the arrival of five-star signee Jackson Arnold. The room is on solid ground and Jeff Lebby is working to continue to grow on that with the commitments of Michael Hawkins in the 2024 class and Kevin Sperry following him in 2025.

SoonerScoop.com caught up with Sperry following a Rock Hill practice to see just where things are for him.

RECRUITING: 2025 QB Kevin Sperry

Another big part of the puzzle catching up with Sperry about what fellow 2025 standouts he is hoping to join him in Norman following the commitment of fellow Texan Gracen Harris to the Sooners.

“I’m not really selling, I’m just telling everybody the truth, how I feel about Oklahoma and why I made my decision. I feel like a lot of guys I’ve talked to felt the same way about the culture and coach (Brent) Venables and what he’s about,” Sperry said. “Everybody has nice facilities, all that nice equipment and everything like that. I feel like coach Venables is doing a great job with the people he is putting in his program. The coaching staff, and the players also. He doesn’t just recruit the top guys, you’ve got to have character also.

“[But] I would say Dasaahn Brame, Xavier (Ukponu) at Guyer, Michael Fasusi, he’s a big-time dude, I talked to him at the spring game, I love him, he’s a dog. Obviously Gracen Harris, me and him have been talking a lot and then Nate Roberts, the tight end.”

Kevin Sperry committed to the Oklahoma Sooners on March 13 and is the No. 143 overall player and No. 14 quarterback in the country according to On3.com.
