Florida Gators cornerback Dijon Johnson re-signs for 2026 season
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Gators starting cornerback Dijon Johnson has re-signed with Florida Victorious for the 2026 season. He announced the news on social media Wednesday.
Johnson is the fourth UF football player to announce a new deal with Florida Victorious. Linebackers Myles Graham and Aaron Chiles and wide receiver TJ Abrams are the others.
Retaining Dijon Johnson was important for a secondary that loses senior cornerback Devin Moore, who was the Gators’ highest-graded defender during the 2025 season.
Johnson made eight consecutive starts for Florida at cornerback — dating back to the last four games of the 2024 season — before suffering a season-ending injury this year.
Johnson earned a redshirt as a junior, undergoing knee surgery in September after four games started. He logged eight tackles (seven solo), one interception and one pass breakup.
Johnson made his first career interception in the SEC opener at No. 3 LSU. He also forced a PBU against No. 4 Miami and recorded four tackles before leaving the game with his injury.
Johnson made five starts in 2024 and appeared in all 13 games. He finished the year with 25 tackles (16 solo), a TFL, one quarterback hurry and two pass breakups.
