Updated betting odds for the next Florida coach — and a new favorite

For the third time since being released last week, Bet Online has updated its odds for the next Florida Gators coach. Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin was the favorite in the first two odds, but there’s a new leader in the clubhouse.
Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz is now listed as the favorite for the job with -105 odds, according to Bet Online. Drinkwitz is 44-26 (24-22 SEC) at Mizzou and 6-2 this season after going 10-3 last year and 11-2 in 2023.

Kiffin is no longer in top two with +300 odds after previously holding the top spot at +200 and +190 odds, respectively. Kiffin is 51-19 in Oxford, 29-17 in the SEC and has the No. 7 Rebels off to a 7-1 start and in CFB Playoff contention.
Behind Drinkwitz — and ahead of Kiffin — is former Penn State coach James Franklin at second on the list. His latest odds for the Florida job are +200. Franklin went 104-45 at Penn State and 13-3 last year to reach the semifinals.
Washington’s Jedd Fisch (+900) and Louisville’s Jeff Brohm (+1000) round out the top five for the betting odds on UF’s next coach. Fisch is 6-2 this year and went 10-3 at Arizona in 2023, while Brohm currently has a 6-1 mark after 10 and nine wins in his first two years.
The remaining odds at this time are +1200 for USF’s Alex Golesh, +1400 for Arizona State’s Kenny Dillingham, +1600 for Georgia Tech’s Brent Key and +1800 for SMU’s Rhett Lashlee. Of those four, Key is having the best season with an 8-0 record and No. 8 ranking.

“My sense is we will have a wide variety of candidates,” Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin said of the coaching search. “We want people who can win championships at the University of Florida. That’s going to be our goal. We want somebody who can come in here, be a strong leader and win championships.”
