GAME RECAP: Ducks Surge to 41-7 Win Over Oregon State

For the second consecutive week, the Oregon Ducks started a bit slow — but once again, they found their rhythm and pulled away as the game progressed, cruising to a 41–7 win over rival Oregon State.
Oregon’s offensive start to Saturday’s game went just as many expected — a dominant opening drive that covered 75 yards in seven plays, capped off by a beautiful 22-yard touchdown connection from Dante Moore to Dakorien Moore.
But over the next 10–15 minutes of game time, Oregon State began to push back, challenging the narrative that they would be easily over matched.
Oregon’s next two drives stalled, resulting in a turnover on downs and a punt. Meanwhile, the Beavers answered with a 64-yard scoring drive — 40 of those yards coming on the ground — capped by a 1-yard touchdown plunge from Anthony Hankerson to tie the game late in the first quarter.
In the second quarter, the Ducks began to settle in. They scored touchdowns on their final two drives of the half, including a 12-play, 92-yard drive finished by a 23-yard touchdown pass to Kenyon Sadiq, followed by a 3-yard touchdown run from Jordon Davison. Oregon took a 21–7 lead into halftime.

The second half picked up right where the first left off. Oregon’s defense opened with a quick three-and-out, and although it initially looked like the Ducks’ offense might stall in response, James Ferguson-Reynolds provided a spark with a gutsy 21-yard run on a fake punt to keep the drive alive. Just a few plays later, Dante Moore connected with Jeremiah McClellan for a 13-yard touchdown — McClellan’s first receiving score of the season to give the Ducks a 28-7 lead and the rout was on from there.
Dante Moore delivered his most productive performance of the season, setting season highs in both passing yards (305) and touchdowns (4). The Ducks showcased impressive balance on offense as well. Oregon rushed for 247 yards, with no individual rusher eclipsing 70 yards, and no receiver finishing with more than 4 catches or 65 receiving yards — a true team effort on both the ground and through the air.
Defensively, Eugene native Bryce Boettcher was all over the field in his final Civil War game, racking up 10 tackles. As a unit, the Ducks’ defense smothered Oregon State quarterback Maalik Murphy, holding him to just 80 passing yards, while limiting the Beavers’ ground game to only 67 rushing yards. Oregon surged in the second half, closing out the game with a dominant defensive performance.
Oregon has completed an expected undefeated stretch through the first third of the season, now we are going to find out exactly what the Ducks team is made of when they travel to Penn State in 7 days.
